We offer a range of wheel throwing options at the studio, from 5 week long classes, to taster sessions, to intensive courses. These are offered throughout the year, see below for our current class openings.

Our 5 weeks of wheel throwing class is designed for beginners and improvers

What we cover:

• The lifecycle of a thrown pot
• Clay preparation
• Centering
• Throwing
• Trimming
• Adding handles. 

You will leave the course with a good understanding of how to centre and throw a cylinder (the basis for all other shapes), how to finish your pots and add a trimmed footring, and how to add handles and lugs for function. 

Class size:

5 students, 1 teacher

What is included:

• All your materials and tools
• You may select up to 3 pieces (approximately mug sized) that we will glaze and fire for you to keep at the end of the course.
• Additional fired pieces may be requested, priced from £5 per piece depending on size.

Term structure:

2.5 hours of throwing each week inclusive of clean up time.
